2016 GEELONG FATHER OF THE YEAR AWARD
The Geelong Father of the Year Award is now in it's 17th year, and continues to attract a very strong response from the local community.
In 2015, a record 1,018 entries were received from local primary school children across the region, and a record 26 schools participated in the initiative.
Linking in with Fathers' Day, the children are asked to nominate their 'special bloke' (their father or a special father-figure), with a short story as to why this particular individual is special to them.
Such a simple gesture like a nomination, has not only seen recognition of amazing dads' and similar gents but has gained traction in raising awareness of Bethany's fantastic services available to the community.
