There is no better feeling than assisting local groups, charities, and clubs to support the local community.
We proudly assist in multiple ways, be it financially or raising awareness to their cause.
Over the years we have worked closely and supported the below community groups.
SOCK IT TO MENTAL ILLNESS
Read the Play is a mental health literacy program for junior members of sporting clubs, the program is connected to the Geelong Cats and a part of their Cats in Community umbrella.
Read the Play aims to assist and promote wellbeing, awareness and guidance to help young people in finding support.
Throughout 2019 we were very proud to help produce a custom range of socks for the organisation, that were sold as a limited number of mens and womens socks to further raise awareness for youth mental health and with all proceeds going directly to the Read the Play program.
BETHANY COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Bethany is a leading supplier of community services in the Geelong and Barwon South West Region.
Each year Bethany works with more than 6000 families and individuals who are experiencing difficulties in their lives, which may include poverty, family violence, disability, family breakdown, relationship challenges or gambling addiction.
Their aim is always to contribute to a society where everyone is valued and enjoys the opportunity to achieve their goals and aspirations, always working towards their vision: Opportunity for All.
GEELONG FATHER OF THE YEAR AWARD
The Geelong Father of the Year Award is now in it's 19th year, and continues to attract a very strong response from the local community.
In 2017, over 1,000+ entries were received from local primary school children across the region, and a record 25+ schools participated in the initiative.
Linking in with Fathers' Day, the children are asked to nominate their 'special bloke' (their father or a special father-figure), with a short story as to why this particular individual is special to them.
Such a simple gesture like a nomination, has not only seen recognition of amazing dads' and similar gents but has gained traction in raising awareness of Bethany's fantastic services available to the community.
SIRSOCK is proud to support the Bethany - Geelong Father of the Year Award, and we wish to raise awareness about the superb services that Bethany offers.
GEELONG RUNNERS CLUB (GRC.)
We proudly support the local Geelong Runners Club as a Gold Sponsor.
Founded in 2019 for the locals of Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula. Their idea was to bring runners of all abilities into a non-competitive environment, to meet up a few times a week, and to just hit the roads, tracks, and trails, capturing the pure enjoyment that running provides.
Such a great initiative for the local community and their health.
ARMSTRONG UNITED FC
We are very proud to support the local Armstrong United FC as Major Sponsor. We first teamed with AUFC during their inaugural year and have continued our sponsorship with the club to-date.
The club has come along at such a rapid pace, and features both senior men's & women's teams, along with a multitude of junior teams for the local upcoming stars of the world game.
We have found our involvement such a great way to be a part of the local community, both young & older.. Go Pelicans!
